Quantity Surveyor

Job Description

MGR Resources are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our client's team. The successful candidate will possess a strong background in multiple sectors including commercial, industrial, retail, healthcare and educational. This role will encompass all aspects of quantity surveying from initial tender enquiries to the preparation of valuations and final accounts.

Key Responsibilities:



Tender Management:



Review and interpret project specifications and drawings. Prepare and send out tender enquiries to potential subcontractors and suppliers. Evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotes to ensure compliance and competitiveness.

Cost Management:



Prepare detailed cost estimates and budgets. Track and report on project costs against budgets. Identify and manage cost variations and negotiate cost adjustments.

Contract Administration:



Draft and review contract terms and conditions. Manage contracts and subcontracts throughout the project lifecycle. Ensure contractual compliance and manage claims and disputes as necessary.

Valuations and Final Accounts:



Prepare interim and final valuations for completed works. Manage and prepare final accounts, ensuring all financial details are accurate and up to date.

Project Coordination:



Work closely with project managers, architects, engineers, and clients to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget. Attend project meetings and provide detailed reports and updates.

Risk Management:



Identify potential risks and implement mitigation strategies. Conduct regular site visits to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.

Qualifications:



Minimum of an HNC in a construction-related discipline. Proven experience in the commercial, industrial, retail, healthcare, educational sectors. Strong knowledge of construction methods and materials. Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills. Proficient in the use of industry-standard software and tools. A valid driving license is essential.
