At Balfour Beatty, we shape the future of infrastructure by delivering projects that truly make a difference. We're looking for a Quantity Surveyor to join our Commercial team, where you'll play a key role in managing project costs, supply chain relationships, and supporting successful delivery.

What you'll be doing

As a Quantity Surveyor, you will:


Manage costs and income for building and civil engineering projects. Procure and manage subcontractors and suppliers. Measure, record, and value work independently. Prepare cost reconciliation statements and estimates from first principles. Support senior commercial staff and mentor less experienced colleagues. Ensure compliance with governance requirements, contracts, and company systems. Engage with subcontractors, customers, and wider project teams to drive value for money.

Who we're looking for

What You Need

BSc or MSc in Quantity Surveying (or equivalent experience). Professional membership or working towards (MRICS / MCInstCES / MCIOB). CSCS Card (Academically or Professionally Qualified Person). Strong commercial awareness with the ability to interpret specifications, drawings, and contracts. Experience preparing bills of quantities, schedules of rates, and managing subcontract agreements.
