Overview

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Quantity Surveyor to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in managing project costs, ensuring financial efficiency throughout the lifecycle of construction projects. This position requires a strong understanding of cost control and the ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders to deliver projects on time and within budget.

Responsibilities

Prepare and manage detailed cost estimates for construction projects, ensuring accuracy and completeness. Monitor project expenditures and implement cost control measures to maintain budgetary compliance. Conduct feasibility studies to assess the viability of projects and provide recommendations based on financial analysis. Collaborate with architects, engineers, and contractors to ensure alignment on project specifications and costs. Prepare tender documents, including bills of quantities, and assist in the evaluation of bids from contractors. Maintain accurate records of all financial transactions related to projects, including variations and claims. Provide regular reports on project financial status to stakeholders, highlighting any potential issues or concerns.

Qualifications

A degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field is essential. Proven experience in quantity surveying within the construction industry is highly desirable. Strong understanding of cost control principles and practices. Excellent analytical skills with a keen eye for detail. Proficient in using quantity surveying software and Microsoft Office Suite. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment. Professional membership with a recognised institution (e.g., RICS) is an advantage but not mandatory.
