Quantum Algorithm Researcher

to help shape the future of quantum computing. In this role, you will design and advance algorithms that unlock quantum advantage across optimisation, simulation, and machine learning. Your insights will guide both our research agenda and our collaborations with leading partners in academia and industry.

Key Responsibilities



Conduct cutting-edge research and develop novel algorithms in

quantum optimisation, simulation, and machine learning

. Translate academic and industry challenges into new research directions that shape the team's roadmap. Assess and leverage the capabilities of current and emerging

quantum hardware platforms

. Communicate findings clearly through

publications, presentations, and technical discussions

within the team and across partners. Collaborate with leading academic institutions, industry organisations, and cross-disciplinary teams. Represent the company in the wider community through

conference talks, workshops, and technical demonstrations

.

Essential Skills & Qualifications



PhD (or equivalent experience) in

quantum information, theoretical physics, quantum physics, artificial intelligence, computer science, or mathematics

. Demonstrated expertise in

quantum algorithm development

, in either academia or industry. Proven track record of high-quality, peer-reviewed research or equivalent applied contributions. Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly. Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative research team. Intellectual curiosity, adaptability, and a willingness to take both leadership and supporting roles as projects demand.

Desirable Skills



Strong background in

machine learning, quantum simulation, or related computational methods

. Proficiency in programming languages such as

Python, Q#, or C++

. Experience in

benchmarking and evaluating quantum algorithms

. Domain expertise in applied areas such as

finance, healthcare, or energy
