Summary



We are seeking two dumper operators.

Dumper Operators are skilled workers who operate heavy machinery, specifically dump trucks, to transport and dump materials like dirt, gravel, sand, and construction waste on construction sites, quarries, and similar environments. They are responsible for safely and efficiently moving materials, ensuring proper loading and unloading procedures, and maintaining the equipment. This role requires strong site awareness, manoeuvring skills, and the ability to work effectively within a team, especially in challenging and potentially hazardous condition

Responsibilities



Operating dump trucks: This includes forward tipping dumpers, articulated dump trucks, and other heavy dumper variations. Transporting materials: Safely moving loads across the site, ensuring balanced and stable transport. Loading and unloading: Following proper procedures for loading and unloading materials, including tipping into trenches or over edges. Site awareness and navigation: Manoeuvring the dumper in confined spaces, navigating inclines and rough terrain, and avoiding hazards. Safety checks and maintenance: Performing daily inspections, reporting any faults, and maintaining the equipment. Communication: Effectively communicating with site supervisors and other workers to ensure smooth operations and safety. Following regulations: Adhering to health, safety, and environmental regulations and site-specific protocols. Record keeping: In some cases, keeping logs of materials transported, including weight, pick-up, and delivery points. Basic groundworks: In some roles, dumper operators may assist with basic groundworks such as shovelling, drainage, and handling materials

Skills



Operator's license: A valid CPCS (Construction Plant Competence Scheme) or NPORS (National Plant Operators Registration Scheme) dumper ticket is required. Experience: Prior experience operating dumpers, particularly on construction sites (Required)

Requirements



Technical skills: Understanding of how to operate the dumper controls, including levers, pedals, and control panels. Physical fitness: Ability to handle physical tasks related to loading, unloading, and maintaining the equipment. Safety awareness: A strong understanding of construction site safety procedures and the ability to identify and mitigate potential hazards. Communication skills: Ability to effectively communicate with team members and follow instructions. Basic literacy and numeracy: Necessary for understanding instructions, measurements, and record keeping Proven experience in operating heavy machinery, preferably in a quarry or construction environment. Strong mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot equipment issues as they arise. Valid commercial driving license is preferred but not mandatory. Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently when required.
