At Nice Work, we organise over 150 races a year across the UK, from local fun runs to iconic events like the Hastings Half Marathon. We're a passionate, close-knit team that delivers professionally and celebrates every finisher, from first to last.
We're now looking for a Race Operations & Planning Manager to lead on the planning and strategic growth of some of our most high-profile events. If you thrive on race day energy but also love digging into data, strategy and partnerships behind the scenes, this could be the role for you. What You'll Be Doing
Operations & Delivery
- Lead the end-to-end planning and smooth delivery of flagship events
- Take the role of Race Director on event days, overseeing delivery teams and suppliers
- Manage timelines, logistics, permissions, risk assessments and briefing documentation
- Collaborate with internal teams and stakeholders to deliver safe, successful events
Growth & Marketing
- Develop and implement marketing plans to grow race entries
- Manage event websites and social media channels, ensuring content is up to date and on-brand
- Seek new ways to attract a wider and more diverse range of participants
Partnerships & Development
- Identify and secure sponsorship and commercial opportunities
- Build and nurture charity partnerships to maximise local community impact
- Explore new income streams to support long-term event sustainability
Works closely with:
All office teams including, Directors, Finance, Operations, Marketing, Communications, Fulfilment, and NW Supplies.
What We're Looking For
- Strong operations or event management experience (race experience ideal but not essential)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Confidence working independently and leading teams on event day
- Experience with marketing, social media or digital communications would be desirable
- An interest in and experience of design would be a bonus
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to juggle multiple deadlines
- A proactive mindset - this is a role for people who make things happen
- Passion for running, community sport or active lifestyles
- Local knowledge of Hastings and East Sussex is desirable
