Successfully deliver race meetings at Towcester Racecourse to a weekly schedule. Ensure the Racing Office function runs smoothly while managing relationships with trainers and other key stakeholders. Ensure every aspect of race meetings runs safely and efficiently and provides the best possible greyhound racing for on-course and off-course markets.
The postholder will oversee that competitive racing is always provided with the highest level of integrity, ensuring welfare and care is a priority on and off the track.
Hours: 40 per week (weekends required).

Principal accountabilities and responsibilities
Responsibility for grading of racing, overseeing race and trial meetings, delivering the most competitive racing possible
Manage and support Racing Office team members, and provide training where necessary, encouraging personal development
Act as GBGB licenced Steward at race meetings. Implementation and enforcement of GBGB and local rules of racing, ensuring regular compliance with the governing body and regular contact with respective Stipendiary Steward
Manage racing strength, trainers and kennel hands in a professional manner
Provide and analyse racing office data on all aspects of greyhounds including (but not restricted to) statistical information on trainer performance, race results and injuries. Present racing office data and information in various formats
Work closely with grounds team and GBGB officials as required
Oversee secure kennelling of greyhounds and ensure presence of qualified Vet prior to the commencement of race meetings and trial sessions
Ensure registrations are completed to satisfaction of GBGB, including "marking up" and sampling
Abide by all regulations and safe working practices as detailed in Company's Health and Safety Policy and Procedures
Ensure all areas and equipment are safe and used following manufacturer's guidelines, reporting any concerns to Head of Racing
Qualifications & Experience
Educated to degree level or equivalent experience
An extensive background in greyhound racing with more than five years' experience in a similar role
Management qualifications or equivalent managerial experience
Computer literate (Microsoft Office; Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams etc)
Full working knowledge of racing office software systems and GBGB kennel software systems
Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and ensure accuracy
Diligent with a high attention to detail, always ensuring accuracy in own work and the work of others
