About the requirement:
Looking to make an impact in a dynamic environment? Your next role could be the senior technical authority for radio network architecture, performance, and evolution within the Special Events programme, deploying temporary mobile networks at major UK events such as festivals and concerts. We're on the lookout for a Radio Solutions Manager to lead the development and approval of radio designs, evaluate system performance, and ensure deployments meet standards. Based in our Paddington Office, you'll oversee Radio Planners and Engineers, collaborate with the Lead Delivery Manager and Deployment Partner, and serve as the primary technical interface with MNO teams.

What You'll Be Doing
As part of the Special Events team, you will provide strategic technical leadership while applying practical, innovative engineering solutions to complex, temporary deployment scenarios. It's a role with a lot of variety, and day-to-day, you'll mainly be involved with:Act as the Technical Design Authority (TDA) for all radio network design, architecture and performance matters Own and approve all final radio designs, including system architecture, propagation planning, capacity analysis and performance acceptance criteria Evaluate and approve integration strategies with MNO networks, ensuring alignment with both current and future technology evolutions Apply advanced radio engineering knowledge to solve complex problems, balancing theoretical design with practical, real-world deployment constraints Lead the adaptation and application of emerging radio technologies in alignment with MNO and industry trends Provide technical oversight of designs, testing and performance validation completed by the Delivery Partner Lead technical reviews and sign off on test results, acceptance reports and performance data Collaborate with the Lead Delivery Manager to ensure technical objectives are integrated into the overall programme delivery Provide technical leadership to Radio Planners and Engineers, mentoring and developing team capabilities Advise the Programme Manager and Lead Delivery Manager on technical risks, innovations and performance trends Represent the radio engineering discipline in senior leadership and technical strategy forums

What You'll BringExtensive senior-level experience in radio network engineering, design and performance management Proven experience as a Technical Design Authority or equivalent senior technical leadership role Advanced knowledge of multi-operator and shared infrastructure solutions Capable of balancing innovation with commercial and operational considerations Professional degree in Electronics, Telecommunications, or a related engineering discipline Chartered Engineer status or equivalent professional recognition Experience working within high-profile or complex deployment environments (e.g. stadia, transport hubs, large events) Project management certification or exposure (PRINCE2, APM) Strategic technical thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving skills Highly disciplined, structured and proactive working style, capable of independently driving project milestones and deadlines Clear communicator with both technical and non-technical stakeholders Natural problem-solver with ability to make decisions under pressure Proactive, adaptable and solutions-oriented mindset High attention to detail and commitment to engineering excellence
