As a Ramp Team Leader at Skytanking Aviation Services, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth, timely, and safe processing of passenger baggage and cargo, as well as the operation of Ground Support Equipment (GSE) during aircraft turnarounds. You will lead and support your team within the Ramp and/or Baggage Hall, ensuring high performance standards and a commitment to safety and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:



Leadership & Team Support:

Lead, mentor, and support your ramp teams to ensure the effective execution of ramp and baggage hall operations, fostering a culture of safety, efficiency, and teamwork.

Safety & Compliance:

Ensure that all operations are conducted in strict compliance with company policies, Airline(s) and Airport(s) protocols, and regulatory requirements. Stay informed about and implement any new or updated procedures and policies.

Operational Oversight:

Oversee the safe and efficient use of GSE and other equipment, ensuring operational efficiency during aircraft turnarounds, baggage screening, and sortation. Conduct regular preventative maintenance and inspections within the operational environment, including FOD removal and equipment checks.

Problem Management:

Manage any issues related to baggage and freight onloading/offloading with accuracy and efficiency, ensuring clear communication with the Aircraft Dispatcher/BOH Supervisor.

Turnaround Inspections:

Perform regular turnaround inspections of ramp operations and GSE using the I-audit tool, ensuring that any discrepancies or issues are promptly addressed.

Communication & Collaboration:

Maintain effective communication with colleagues across all departments, ensuring a cohesive approach to operations that maximizes safety, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.

Performance Management:

Ensure that your team meets performance expectations, participating in operational briefings/debriefings to discuss performance, procedural changes, and safety issues.

Incident Reporting:

Report and document any incidents or accidents involving equipment, aircraft, customers, or staff immediately to your Line Supervisor, following the relevant procedures and policies.

Health & Safety:

Attend regular Health and Safety committee meetings, contributing to the continuous improvement of safety practices within the workplace.

Additional Duties:

Perform any other reasonable tasks as requested by Line Management to support the overall operation.

Qualifications & Experience:



Demonstrable experience in the aviation or airport industry, with a background in airside operations and supervisory roles being highly advantageous. Essential ground handling experience in a similar role. A full UK driving license is required. Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment. A commitment to safety and compliance, with strong knowledge of relevant procedures and regulations. Flexibility and adaptability to handle a variety of tasks and challenges within the workplace.
