A Temporary vacancy has become available for a Raw Material Quality Auditor to join our Technical Department. This role shall be a 6 month fixed term contract.
The successful candidate will be quality focused and able to contribute to maintaining our desired standard, supporting the daily achievement of site and areas KPI's. These being Safety, Quality, People, Delivery and Cost.
This will be a challenging role that will require individuals with the strength of character to stand by their decisions and ensure a consistent approach is taken.

Key Responsibilities:
Ensure compliance with product specifications, quality and legal parameters and food safety requirements.
Complete the assessment and testing of incoming fish, ingredients and packaging materials.
Undertake the manual handling of the bulk delivery of fish and the booking in of the batches on the Aquascot systems using appropriate lifting equipment where required.
Conducting HOG health checks using Aquascot's reporting system.
Recording and reporting inspection and assessment findings to the Raw Material Co-ordinator
Undertake the quarantining and rejection of raw materials if necessary.
Reporting internal non-conformances and foreign body issues.
Assisting in investigations into raw material quality issues
Carrying out inspection of processed split fillets for discolouration and other defects on the line, reporting the details to the Raw Material Co-ordinator
Following the HACCP system procedures in accordance with the quality assurance procedures.
Ensure that the hygiene standards are maintained at all times for the equipment within the chill are kept clean and tidy.
Providing QA (Quality Auditor) cover where necessary and performing GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) inspections when required.
Involved in the manual transportation of bulk fish deliveries on full pallets with use of manual hand jacks and lifting of individual boxes of up to 25kg.
Key attributes of the candidate:
Ideally will have experience in quality control and food safety or two years operator experience.
SVQ Food Manufacturing Qualification is desirable.
Computer literate, with experience in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.
Passionate about product quality in order to deliver to specification.
An impeccable eye for detail with regards to key quality attributes and fish specification parameters.
An effective communicator and team player with ability to communicate with fellow employees confidently and with integrity.
Practical hands on approach; able to follow procedures logically and systematically.
Capable of working both on own initiative and proactively as part of a team.
Ability to highlight issues, resolve problems and challenge where appropriate.
Reliable, organised and punctual.
Flexible with a positive approach to undertaking a variety of tasks as part of the wider Quality department.
