Contract:

Full-time, 40 hours per week (usually Monday-Friday)

MM Flowers is looking for a highly organised and detail-focused

Raw Material Specification Technologist

to join our Technical Services team. This is a key role within our Technical function, responsible for ensuring that all raw materials meet customer, legal, and internal requirements through accurate specification creation and document control.

Working closely with suppliers and internal teams, you'll play a vital role in supporting product traceability, compliance, and technical integrity. This position is perfect for someone with experience in data handling, technical administration, or specification management within food, FMCG, or horticulture.

Key Responsibilities

Raw Material Specification Management

Create, maintain, and update raw material specifications using internal systems and customer portals Accurately manage key data such as product standards, supplier information, and technical declarations Ensure all raw material data is compliant, current, and accessible across teams

Documentation & Compliance

Maintain up-to-date supplier documentation including allergen, pesticide, packaging, and safety data Support internal traceability, audit readiness, and documentation accuracy for all raw materials Monitor document version control and escalate any gaps in compliance or overdue updates

Supplier & System Engagement

Work with suppliers to obtain and validate technical information, chasing missing data as needed Confidently use internal systems and retailer platforms to manage and submit specification information Support onboarding processes for new materials and suppliers

Cross-Functional Collaboration

Collaborate with Technical, Procurement, and Production teams to ensure material data supports business needs Contribute to product changes, packaging reviews, and technical projects by supplying accurate raw material information Support continuous improvement initiatives across the Technical Services function

What We're Looking For

Previous experience in a specification, data management, or technical documentation role Ability to manage multiple specifications and data sets with strong attention to detail Organised and methodical approach to tracking and maintaining supplier documentation Strong communication and coordination skills for internal and external collaboration Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and general confidence with technical or ERP systems

Desirable

Experience working with retailer portals such as Tesco, or M&S Knowledge of raw material compliance requirements including pesticides, allergens, and ethical sourcing Familiarity with technical standards for labelling, packaging, and UK/EU regulations
