Role Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically driven

R&D

Chemist

to join our growing technical team. In this role, you will focus on the development and optimisation of adhesive and sealant formulations, supporting both customer-specific solutions and internal product improvements. You'll work closely with R&D, production, and commercial teams to bring high-performance materials from concept to commercialisation.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and optimise adhesive and sealant formulations to meet performance, process, and cost targets. Conduct application testing and performance evaluations (e.g., adhesion, tensile strength, chemical resistance). Support product scale-up from lab to pilot and full-scale manufacturing, working closely with production and process engineering teams. Troubleshoot and improve existing formulations based on feedback from production, quality control, and customers. Maintain accurate and detailed records of development work, test results, and formulation data. Assist in technical investigations, customer trials, and product support activities. Ensure all lab activities comply with internal safety procedures and industry regulations. Stay updated with advancements in raw materials, application methods, and adhesive technologies.

Qualifications & Skills:

Degree in Chemistry, Material Science, or a related field (BSc, MSc, or equivalent). Previous experience in formulation or product development, ideally in adhesives, sealants, or polymer systems. Solid understanding of polymer and materials chemistry, curing mechanisms, and structure-property relationships. Practical lab experience in developing and testing materials for real-world applications. Strong documentation, data analysis, and communication skills. A proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively across teams.
