Job Summary



We are seeking a meticulous and technically astute R&D Tax Consultant to take a lead role in ensuring the quality, compliance, and continued defensibility of all R&D claims prepared for submission to HMRC.

This position is ideal for someone who thrives on interpreting and applying the CIRD guidelines, enjoys deep-dive analysis, and understands the importance of getting the details right.

You will act as a gatekeeper of our submission standards, ensuring that each claim meets both the spirit and the letter of HMRC's R&D tax relief criteria.

Responsibilities



Serve as the final reviewer of all R&D claims prior to submission, focusing on technical compliance, narrative consistency, and financial coherence. Interpret and apply the CIRD Manual as well as other guidance, to validate claim eligibility and structure. Lead internal training and upskilling sessions on R&D guidance, HMRC best practices, and claim defensibility. Pro-active in staying ahead of industry and HMRC changes, and advise the business on necessary adaptations.

Requirements



Proven experience preparing, reviewing, and submitting UK R&D tax relief claims. Strong communication skills (written and verbal) In-depth understanding of HMRC's CIRD Manual and how it applies across sectors Ability to assess and articulate scientific/technological advancements in accordance with R&D tax criteria. Attention to detail, in both written and numerical accuracy. Strong communication skills and the ability to advise both internal teams and clients on complex technical interpretations.

Desirable



Chartered Accountant (ACA / ACCA / CTA) or part-qualified with relevant experience.
Please Note: Individuals with proven Chartered Accountancy expertise will be offered a salaray range of 45,000 - 50,000

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: 40,000.00-45,000.00 per year
