We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to join our team. The role consists of assessing client's financial information such as P&L statement, accounts, subcontracted invoices, bank statements etc. We assess the documents to determine what aspects can be included in the clients R&D Tax claim (Research & Development).
The successful candidate will receive all relevant training.
Conduct in-depth financial analysis to identify eligible R&D expenditures in line with HMRC guidelines.
Collaborate with technical and operational teams to gather data supporting R&D tax claims.
Prepare detailed financial reports and supporting documentation for R&D tax submissions.
Build and maintain financial models to assess qualifying costs, project profitability, and claim value.
Utilise advanced Excel functions to analyse large datasets and ensure accuracy in R&D cost allocations.
Interpret financial data and present insights to stakeholders, including recommendations for maximising R&D claim efficiency.
Monitor claim-related KPIs and ensure adherence to changing legislation and internal compliance standards.
Support the finance team with budgeting and forecasting tasks related to R&D activities.
Participate in cross-functional projects to enhance R&D financial processes and reporting.
Skills & Qualifications
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis tools.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex financial data into clear narratives.
Solid understanding of financial planning principles, particularly in relation to R&D accounting.
Experience with R&D tax credit schemes and HMRC claim requirements is highly desirable.
Knowledge of SQL for data extraction and manipulation is a strong advantage.
Familiarity with Power BI or other BI/reporting tools to visualise financial data effectively.
Detail-oriented with strong organisational skills; able to manage multiple claims and deadlines simultaneously.
Ability to critically analyse financial data and provide actionable insights to optimise claim value.
Fluent in English, with strong interpersonal skills to work effectively within cross-departmental teams.

9am-5.30pm Monday to Thursday
9am-4pm Friday
