Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Forklift Operator to join our warehouse team. The successful candidate will be responsible for efficiently handling materials, operating forklifts safely, and supporting shipping and receiving operations. This role requires a strong understanding of warehouse procedures and mechanical aptitude to ensure smooth and safe operations within a busy environment. Previous warehouse experience and familiarity with warehouse management systems are highly desirable. The position offers an excellent opportunity to develop your skills in logistics and equipment maintenance.

Responsibilities

Operate forklift trucks to load, unload, move, and position materials within the warehouse Assist with shipping and receiving activities, ensuring accurate documentation and handling of goods Utilise warehouse management systems to track inventory movements and update records Perform basic repairs or troubleshooting on forklift equipment as needed Handle materials safely, adhering to health and safety regulations Support stock organisation by stacking and storing items efficiently Conduct routine inspections of equipment to ensure safety standards are maintained Assist with general warehouse duties including inventory counts and order fulfilment Collaborate with team members to optimise workflow and maintain a clean, organised workspace

Requirements

Valid forklift licence with proven experience operating various types of forklift trucks Prior experience in a warehouse environment is preferred Mechanical knowledge for basic equipment repair and troubleshooting Familiarity with warehouse management systems is advantageous Ability to handle heavy lifting safely and efficiently Basic mathematical skills for inventory counting and documentation purposes Strong organisational skills with attention to detail Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team Physical fitness to perform manual handling tasks throughout the shift
