Your Mission (Should You Choose to Accept It)

As a Reactive and Small Works Surveyor at A Plus Services, you will tackle a wide range of exciting challenges, including:

Visiting properties to assess, diagnose, and scope reactive maintenance jobs and small works projects Writing clear, detailed Specifications of Works--covering materials, labour, access, methodology, and key risks Measuring and recording everything accurately to enable smooth quoting and delivery Collaborating with our estimator to prepare quotes and uplifts using Schedule of Rates and bespoke pricing Uploading findings, photos, and notes into our job management system Liaising with clients, residents, and our operations team to ensure every job is clear, deliverable, and professionally presented Escalating major works and disrepair jobs for collaborative review with management
Adapt and overcome--like the military, we want people who embrace challenges head-on.

What Makes You Our Ideal Candidate?

? You have proven experience in reactive maintenance, void property surveys, or small works delivery
? You are comfortable working independently to diagnose and specify works on site
? You have strong multitrade knowledge and a sound understanding of property construction
? You have excellent written and verbal communication skills
? You hold a full UK driving licence (minimal points, please)
? You are competent with IT--tablets, job management systems, and digital measuring tools
? You are happy to undergo an enhanced DBS check as part of our hiring process

Desirable (but not essential):

Experience in social housing, insurance repairs, or planned maintenance Familiarity with disrepair protocols and major works quoting Relevant trade qualifications, HNC, or industry certifications

What's the Day-to-Day Like?

Morning coffee, quick check-in with the team, and then you are off to survey your first property From diagnosing a leaking wet-room to scoping kitchen replacements, you will use your knowledge to create clear, accurate specifications Stay in touch with the estimator and office team for updates and support Finish the day knowing you have played a key role in keeping properties safe, functional, and compliant
