We need someone who is reliable, dependable and understands the needs of children who find being in education challenging. You will work with a dedicated and dynamic team of colleagues who look for creative and responsive solutions to sometimes complex issues.
Within our school we have a small class group with skilled staff who support children with SEMH needs known as the Ready to Learn Room. You will work with pupils across the school with social, emotional and mental health needs to help develop their resilience and independence, teaching them how to regulate their emotions as well as supporting their academic achievements.
In this role, you will work with our class teachers both within their own classes and within our Ready to Learn Room to support our children with SEMH needs.
We are looking for someone who:
Understands how to support children through play and co-regulation
relates well to both children and adults and has excellent interpersonal skills
is caring, calm and patient
is able to work as a part of a team, learning with and from other colleagues
enjoys working independently and with initiative
is able to work effectively with children to move their learning forward
is highly organised and has good time management skills
is flexible, proactive and resourceful
has excellent communication skills, both oral and written
is able to provide written and verbal feedback to the class teacher as required
understands confidentiality and safeguarding procedures
has GCSE grade C or above in English and Maths
has high levels of resilience
