We are a large, dynamic, forward thinking practice with a growing population based over two sites in the Torbay area of South Devon. With over 100 staff including GP's, a large team of Nurses, Admin and Reception Teams.

RESPONSIBLE TO : Reception Team Leader



WORKS WITH: GP's, Practice Manager, Practice Nurse's and Administration Team



HOURS: Part Time/Full Time



The post-holder may be required to work a Saturday morning on a rota basis between 08:00-12:30 approximately 1 in 20.

The post-holder will also be required to cover extra sessions when colleagues are on annual leave or sick leave.

SALARY:



12.25 per hour starting rate (increments at 6 months and 2 years)

JOB SUMMARY:



To provide patients with a polite, helpful and efficient first point of contact. . To ensure that enquiries from patients are efficiently and courteously handled in the highest possible professional basis.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

:

Patient Interaction

: Welcoming patients, managing appointments, and providing information about the practice's services.

Administrative Duties

: Handling phone calls, emails, and other correspondence; maintaining patient records; and ensuring proper documentation.

Appointment Management

: Scheduling, rescheduling, and cancelling appointments using medical software systems including Klinik and EMIS.

Coordination

: Liaising with medical staff, such as doctors and nurses, to ensure efficient patient care.

Problem-Solving

: Addressing patient inquiries and resolving issues with professionalism and empathy.

Confidentiality

: Ensuring patient information is handled securely and in compliance with data protection regulations.
Training : Resuscitation and other applicable to the role

In the course of seeking treatment, patients entrust us with, or allow us to gather, sensitive information in relation to their health and other matters. They do so in confidence and have the right to expect that staff will respect their privacy and act appropriately

In the performance of the duties outlined in this , the post-holder may have access to confidential information relating to patients and their carer's, practice staff and other healthcare workers. They may also have access to information relating to the practice as a business organisation. All such information from any source is to be regarded as strictly confidential Information relating to patients, carers, colleagues, other healthcare workers or the business of the practice may only be divulged to authorised persons in accordance with the practice policies and procedures relating to confidentiality and the protection of personal and sensitive data.

Using personal security systems within the workplace according to practice guidelines Identifying the risks involved in work activities and undertaking such activities in a way that manages those risks Making effective use of training to update knowledge and skills Using appropriate infection control procedures, maintaining work areas in a tidy and safe way and free from hazards Reporting potential risks identified.
