We are currently looking for a Reception Teaching Assistant to join a warm and welcoming primary school in Carlisle, starting as soon as possible. This is a fantastic long-term opportunity for someone passionate about early years education and supporting children with additional needs.
The school has recently welcomed a number of new pupils with diverse needs--including Autism, ADHD, and speech and language delays--and is looking for a dedicated, caring individual to provide both 1:1 and in-class support. You'll be working alongside a friendly, dynamic team in a setting where every child is seen, supported, and celebrated.
What You'll Be Doing:
Working closely with the classroom teacher to help deliver fun, engaging and inclusive lessons.
Providing one-to-one and small group support for children with additional needs.
Creating a nurturing and safe environment where children can grow emotionally, socially and academically.
Supporting classroom routines, managing behaviour positively, and encouraging a love of learning through both indoor and outdoor play.
Getting involved in school events and activities that support the holistic development of each child.
What We're Looking For:
Someone who genuinely loves working with young children, especially in EYFS or KS1.
A passion for supporting children with Autism and other additional needs.
Patience, empathy, and a warm, positive attitude.
A basic understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum or willingness to learn.
Relevant qualifications or the motivation to work towards them (we can help with that too!).
Whether you're looking for full-time or part-time hours, we'd love to hear from you. School hours are 8:30am to 3:30pm, and support and ongoing SEND training will be provided.
At Sense Education, we're here to support you and your career journey. If you're ready to make a difference in the lives of young children and be part of a nurturing team, we'd love to hear from you.
Please apply with an up-to-date CV. You can also find out more about us at www.senseeducation.co.uk.
