A warm and welcoming primary school in NW4 is seeking a

General Teaching Assistant

to join their Reception team on a full-time basis starting in September. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about early years education and eager to support young children as they begin their learning journey.

About the Role

You will play a vital role in supporting the Reception class teacher with daily routines, structured learning, and learning through play. This position requires someone confident in working with young children and who understands the balance between guided activities and free exploration.

Key responsibilities include:

Supporting the delivery of high-quality phonics sessions Encouraging the transition from play-based to more structured learning Working with small groups and individuals to reinforce learning objectives Assisting with classroom organisation and resource preparation Contributing to a safe, stimulating, and nurturing environment for all pupils
What We're Looking For

Experience working in an Early Years or Key Stage 1 setting (school-based or nursery) Strong understanding of phonics and early learning development A warm, approachable manner and ability to build strong relationships with young children Proactive and flexible approach to supporting both the teacher and pupils Commitment to the well-being and development of each child
