Job Description

Mere Road Vets is looking for an experienced receptionist for ad-hoc (but ongoing) cover of staff absences (e.g. sickness, leave). The position has no set hours and cover would be offered on an as-needed basis.

The hours are between 8:00am and 7:00pm and will vary week by week depending on the cover required. Flexibility to work between these hours and throughout the week is a necessity.

Cover of shifts would be offered up to four weeks in advance, however some shifts may be required at short notice due to the nature of the cover needed, i.e. sickness.

Main duties include client care, answering calls, booking appointments, taking payments, assisting the veterinary surgeons / veterinary nurses, and general cleaning.

At least two years previous experience in a reception role is required, experience in the veterinary or healthcare industry would be advantageous.

Candidates must display an aptitude for quick learning as you will be required to become up to speed with the role as soon as possible.

The applicant must have excellent customer service skills, a friendly telephone manner and have good administration / computer skills.
