Summary of the role:





This position sits within the Reconciliations Team supporting the Life & Pensions business (Legacy & BaNCS) and is responsible for executing accurate and timely daily reconciliations. The team plays a critical role in identifying and resolving financial discrepancies, documenting findings, and collaborating closely with Operations to implement effective corrective actions. Additionally, the team provides essential support for month-end ledger close processes and financial controls, ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded and financial reporting is completed in accordance with agreed service level agreements (SLAs), regulatory obligations, and client standards.

What you'll be doing?





Perform daily bank account reconciliations, match outstanding entries, and prepare banking journals and statements for Cash Management Team (Legacy & BaNCS). Complete daily Control Account Reconciliations; identify and resolve discrepancies promptly. Download financial reports, reconcile them to the ledger, and resolve any variances within SLAs. Conduct daily systems checks to verify Trial Balance accuracy and ensure batch jobs are successfully run. Support monthly and year-end ledger close activities. Prepare and post manual journals as needed. Execute Operational Loss processes, ensuring proper investigation and reporting within client records. Review tax reconciliations, request HMRC payments post-approval, and ensure timely payments. Review Reassurance Reports, calculate premiums and claims, coordinate payments, and perform related reconciliations. Meet daily/monthly deadlines and ensure all reconciliations adhere to client standards and control frameworks.



What we're looking for?



Prior experience of working within a finance role within Financial Services. Advanced in MS Excel and Word. Ability to apply different techniques to resolve issues Ability to self-manage, work effectively under pressure and manage to tight deadlines. Strong attention to detail, good fact-finding skills and ability to make evaluative judgments based on both quantitative and qualitative information. Knowledge of financial services (in particular Life & Pension) processes and regulation
