N S Clarke are leading vehicle breakdown and recovery company providing 24-hour assistance across the midlands / nationwide. We pride ourselves on fast response times, professional service, and expert care. We are looking for an enthusiastic, fast-thinking Recovery Controller to join our busy control room team.

The Role

As a Recovery Controller, you will be the main point of contact for members of the public, insurance companies, and motoring organisations (AA, Green Flag, Vehicle manufacturers ETC). You will manage incoming jobs, from flat tyres to major accidents, and dispatch our fleet of recovery vehicles safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

Job Coordination:

Accept and manage recovery jobs via phone, email, and digital platforms.

Dispatching:

Allocate the correct recovery vehicle and driver to the scene to meet ETAs.

Customer Support:

Provide excellent front-line service to stranded motorists, keeping them informed and reassured.

Logistics Management:

Use mapping technology and knowledge of local areas to optimize routes.

Documentation:

Maintain accurate, real-time records of all incidents and actions taken in the control room.

Liaison:

Act as the liaison between the roadside technician, police, and insurance companies.

Person Specification

Experience:

Previous experience in a fast-paced control room, call handling, or logistics role is preferred (but not essential, as training will be provided).

Knowledge:

Basic knowledge of the motor trade/recovery industry is an advantage.

Skills:

Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.

Tech Savvy:

Ability to work with GPS tracking and database management systems.

Pressure Management:

Ability to stay calm and think on your feet in stressful, fast-changing situations.
