Overview

We are seeking a reliable and skilled Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting goods safely and efficiently, ensuring timely deliveries while adhering to all road safety regulations. This role requires a strong understanding of vehicle operation and maintenance, as well as excellent communication skills to interact with clients and warehouse staff.

Duties

Operate delivery vehicles, including vans and flatbed lorries, to transport goods to various locations. Conduct pre-trip inspections to ensure the vehicle is in good working condition and report any mechanical issues. Load and unload goods efficiently, ensuring they are secured properly for transport. Maintain accurate delivery logs and documentation for each trip. Communicate effectively with warehouse personnel and clients regarding delivery schedules and any potential delays. Adhere to all traffic laws and company policies while driving. Assist in the warehouse as needed, including inventory management and organisation of goods.

Qualifications

Valid driving licence with a clean driving record; experience as a van driver or delivery driver is preferred. Mechanical knowledge is advantageous for basic vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting. Previous experience in commercial driving or operating flatbed vehicles is a plus. Strong communication skills to liaise with team members and clients effectively. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Flexibility to adapt to changing schedules and routes as required.
