An exciting opportunity to work in our well-established Private Cosmetic Surgery Hospital in Solihull, Wes Midlands

We are searching for an experienced and dedicated nurse for our Recovery / ODP department to be a dedicated practitioner providing one to one care to our post-anaesthetic patients.

MAIN PURPOSE OF ROLE:



To be responsible for the day to day provision of high quality patient service at clinic level in accordance with all relevant legislation in particular The Health & Social Care Act requires the ODP to be:

fit mentally and physically to do the job trained /skilled and experienced to carry out the regulated activities and daily tasks PURPOSE

To report and be professionally responsible to Theatre Manager To provide excellent care, continuity to patients and conduct all required tasks such as patient monitoring, recovery, stock management, room and theatre preparation and work within delegation of Clinical Services Manager. To maintain adequate stock levels of all items required via theatre coordinator / manager To avoid operation cancellations due to poor management of stock / equipment / staffing
The role will include preparing medicine, performing medicine and equipment checks, stock management, checking patients are safely recovered from theatre, and onward discharge.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:



Tasks and duties:



prepare theatre, conduct daily anaesthetic machine checks

prepare all required medicine for the list

liaise with the anaesthetist at all times

admit the patient and check off for theatre

manage oxygen and order when required

manage medicines for anaesthetics and order when needed

ensure all patients are recovered before PACU transfer

ensure patients not stable are monitored

escalate concerns to theatre manager

Care and Welfare of patients

Safeguarding of patients

Provision of Infection Prevention & Control Measures

Management of Medicines Safety of premises

Completion of audit / cleaning check lists / daily CQC clinical checks Safety of Equipment

Completion of incident forms

Stock management

Respect for patients

Assure Full and proper consent of service users

Provide full assistance to anesthetist per list

Dealing with Complaints if faced with this situation

Implementation and audit of company policies, procedures and protocols

There is a requirement to take part in our 'out of hours' on-call service.

Maintain a professional manner

Provide support and assistance to patients if required relating to:



Continence care and all aspects of personal hygiene if required

Assistance with patient positioning in theatre and application of garments and clothing

Report on wellbeing of the patient

Update and communicate with the theatre coordinator of duties completed

Promote privacy, dignity and respect

Excellent communication links between patient and other professionals

Manage patient discharge from theatre to recovery

Conduct pre operative assessment on day of surgery and full admission of the patient assuring they are ready for their pending surgery

Complete baseline observations, Blood Pressure, Body temperature, Pulse, Oxygen saturation level, Blood monitoring each with appropriate training

Report any faulty appliances, damaged equipment or potential hazard

Ability to maintain accurate records, electronic records and good lines of communication.

Other duties as may be reasonably agreed and requested by management or colleagues

Attend regular appraisal/monitoring/supervision meetings with their line manager when required to do so.

Attend refresher training and occupational training sessions as appropriate

REQUIREMENTS



You require the formal qualification to permit you to complete this role.

We are unable to offer sponsorship or Visa support unfortunately.

Living locally, and being flexible to cover the rota flexibly is a must.

Experience with WHO check, team brief and good communication are essential.

On-call after the list is also required as per rota.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: 38,000.00-40,000.00 per year
