We are recruiting for a new
Recruitment Officer
to join our Human Resources team at YMCA East Surrey. You will be responsible for managing the end-to-end recruitment and onboarding process for all roles across the organisation. Your primary focus is to grow our talent pool by identifying staffing needs and developing recruitment strategies to fill the roles quickly and efficiently.
This role requires someone with a can-do attitude in addition to excellent communication, planning and organisational skills.
Working Hours:
35 hours per week, consisting of Monday-Friday, 9:00-17:00, hybrid working available.
Key responsibilities:
Manage the end-to-end recruitment and onboarding process for all roles advertised at YMCA East Surrey
Create job adverts to attract candidates and promote the benefits of working for YMCA
Create and review job descriptions with hiring managers, ensuring job descriptions define what the role entails and sets clear expectation for the post holder
Coordinate the shortlisting and selection process, ensuring adherence to policies, best practice and legislation including Equal Opportunities monitoring
Support hiring managers in identifying suitable candidates through telephone screening and playing an active role in interviews
Conduct preliminary background checks including DBS and references in accordance with safer recruitment
Liaise with our occupational health provider to arrange pre-placement health questionnaires
Produce offer letters and contracts of employment for new hires
Responsible for induction processes, and supporting with the delivery of our company induction to new hires
Produce reports as and when required detailing recruitment pipeline, starters and leavers
Serve as the first point of contact for any recruitment queries, resolving issues efficiently and professionally
Support hiring managers at job fairs and external recruitment events
Liaise with recruitment agencies to source the right candidate for the right role
Manage and update employee files with onboarding documents
Proactively identify and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within recruitment processes to provide the best candidate experience
Ensure compliance with regulatory and internal policies
Provide cover for other members of the HR team during periods of planned absence
Attend YMCA East Surrey staff meetings, training and staff development events, as appropriate, to ensure continuous professional competence and development
Undertake any other duties and responsibilities reasonably requested by your line manager
