Salary:
The starting salary is 47,060, which includes allowances totalling 2,928.
The salary is broken down as 44,132 basic salary, which will increase annually until you reach the top of the scale 52,652. Plus, a location allowance of 1,928 and a non-pensionable allowance of 1,000.

The Recruitment Training/Capability Manager is a key member of the promotions team. They will be responsible for designing, developing, and delivering interview skills and assessor training programmes and assessing the training needs of promotions assessors (officers and staff). This is a key business function that provides considered, tailored, consistent and well-rounded bespoke training to equip assessors with all the necessary skills to be competent assessors across promotion assessment processes.
They will offer specialist expertise to deliver high quality promotion processes which includes the
creation of training materials, delivering workshops, undertaking quality assurance activity at assessment centres, and evaluating the outcomes of training sessions.
They will be deployed and assigned by the Organisational Psychologist. Areas of focus would include:
Design, development, and delivery of high-quality training programmes to embed assessment and selection processes across the police officer promotion processes to enhance capability and performance.
Working alongside the organisational psychologists and outsourced partners, providing specialist input for promotion assessor training into assessor training for each of the police officer processes.
Undertake quality assurance activity across all key assessment stages.
Project manage the design and delivery of the Mets police officer promotion assessor training and play a key role in continuous improvement activity.

Experience working within a recruitment and selection or promotions environment, working with HR teams.
Design of training materials to enhance assessor capability and performance. Your responsibilities include designing training material, leading training sessions, assessing training impact, and providing one-on-one mentorship where required.
Conduct training needs analysis through job analysis, input and consultation with key stakeholders including the organisational psychologists and assessment design team.
Creation of structured training plans and development of comprehensive training programs that align with the promotion assessment timelines.
Developing assessment/assessor toolkits for assessors to become more self-sufficient in delivering promotion activity.
Ability to incorporate a variety of training methods to cater to different learning styles.
Ability to work flexibly in managing a range of project assignments and able to work independently or as part of a team.
Ability to conduct engaging and effective training sessions with clear communication and interactive learning techniques to maintain participant interest. You should be proficient in presenting both in a group setting and one-on-one scenarios.
Responsibilities also include managing the logistical elements of training sessions, such as scheduling, venue selection, including room booking and distribution of learning materials.
Experience in monitoring and evaluating training effectiveness including pre- and post- training evaluations and feedback.
Experience in designing, implementing and evaluating feedback surveys and analysing assessor performance data to measure if the learning outcomes meet the training objectives.
Ability to identifying data/trends and producing recommendations for success or new ways of training.
Good project management skills with an ability to deliver at pace and to deadline.
Ability to balance risk and innovation with the trial of new ideas and translating insight into actions.
Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to present information clearly and concisely to a range of different stakeholders, including experience of drafting and presenting management briefings.
Confidence to challenge current practices and develop new solutions, ensuring HR promotion activities can be delivered with maximum benefit and are aligned to the organisation's wider strategy.
Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with both internal and external stakeholders at various levels.
Be an advocate for change and innovation, looking at new ideas in terms of approach and service delivery.
