Platform Childcare are recruiting for Referral Placements Business Development Lead. Dynamic, exciting opportunity for individuals, eager to use their initiative and shape the direction of this newly created role.
Working alongside Responsible Individual, whilst having a lead in referrals. Responsible for referrals of EBD, Learning Disability/Autism, Complex Health homes. Placing referrals that are best matched for our children, whilst working closely with management teams. Role requires highly motivated individual, with experience of liaising directly with commissioning services within the children residential sector.
Main duties
Screen incoming referrals (via email, phone, and online portals), refer positive matches to Platform homes, complete offers or provide feedback to local authorities
Ensure provision of excellent service delivery, ensuring all referrals, responded promptly and efficiently
Liaise with home Managers/local authorities regarding placements availability
Actively promote available vacancies within our children's homes, sending out regular availability updates, whilst maintaining active telephone communication
Liaise with Responsible Individual about financial costings to be charged
Be confident in your abilities to help support, drive forward placements service
Building relationship with local authorities and health commissioners
Supporting appropriate matching of referrals, reducing void periods within our homes
Manage and track all referrals and offers to local authority and internal queries related to the commissioning and delivery of residential services
Work to tight timescales, follow up every referral lead
Manage all aspects of data inputting, undertake regular system audits, chasing missing documentation as appropriate
Occupancy management of our residential homes.
Keep abreast of all changes in our homes (step down, notices, care leavers) to ensure a pipeline is appropriately matched to vacancies and occupancy remains at 90% at all times.
Maintaining full occupancy of the home, in the case of the home having a vacancy the home manager will match children to the home, in the absence of the home manager (annual leave/sick leave) the covering Manager will make this decision with the Service Manager.
Attention to detail in ensuring all business opportunities are captured and explored
Individual responsibility for new business and the ability to self-manage
Effective interaction with local authorities, Operations and accounts to ensure all services are appropriately commissioned, contracted and billed for
Ensure contract compliance
Agreeing prices for placements within existing pricing structures
To regularly update and appraise the Responsible Individual/Office Manager of all developments relating to the occupancy management of our residential services.
Promote service to the market and have sole responsibility for occupancy.
Support Operations teams with our referrals process, ensuring regular and appropriate communication
Ensure opportunities to join local authority frameworks are appropriately assessed, supporting the submission of tenders.
Attending training/meetings
Undertake any other duties, from time to time as may be required

Skills, knowledge and experience required:
Good communication and marketing skills
Confident negotiator and the ability to "close the deal"
Capable of hands on problem-solving, with the ability to generate ideas and solutions
A positive and determined approach
Ability to use own initiative and pay close attention to detail.
Ability to cope with competing demands and prioritize tasks.

ORGANISATIONAL;
To work within the provisions of the Data Protection Act, observing strict confidentiality in relation to all aspects of work undertaken. Ensuring compliance with safeguarding procedures, throughout all work within the Company, keeping the manager informed of work in progress and inform the manager immediately of any child protection matter or serious complaint.
