Role Overview:

As our Refurbishment Technician & Technical SME, you'll play a pivotal role in restoring vending machines to optimal condition while serving as the on-site technical authority. You'll lead refurbishment projects, develop expertise across our machine portfolio, and provide holiday cover for field engineers to ensure uninterrupted service.

Key Responsibilities:

Refurbishment

Develop and complete the end-to-end refurbishment process for vending machines, including disassembly, parts replacement, and quality testing. Restore machines to "like-new" condition, ensuring they meet performance and safety standards. Maintain a refurbishment log with detailed records of work completed, parts used, and quality checks.

Technical Subject Matter Expert (SME)

Become the go-to resource for technical queries on machine models, common faults, and refurbishment best practices. Develop and update refurbishment SOPs to standardise processes across the team.

Holiday & Absence Cover

Provide temporary cover for field engineers during holidays/absences, performing:

On-site repairs and preventive maintenance. New machine installations at client locations. Customer training on machine operation.

Collaboration & Compliance

Work with the other stakeholders to identify cost-effective replacement parts. Ensure all refurbished machines comply with health, safety, and operational standards. Share insights with the operations team to improve machine reliability and reduce refurbishment cycles.

Qualifications and Skills:

Essential:

Proven experience in refurbishing electro-mechanical equipment (vending machines, coffee machines preferred). Expertise in diagnosing faults and repairing complex machinery. Strong organisational skills to manage refurbishment workflows.

Desirable:

Certification in electrical/mechanical engineering. Experience training others on technical processes. Familiarity with CRM systems for asset management.
