Team Overview:



The Europe Finance team is based in London with some local finance admin support in the regional offices and other regions, and external tax and statutory reporting advisors in markets. The team supports management decision making and provides financial and management accounting services to all the offices in the Europe region, across seven countries.


The team is led by the Regional FD and COO for Europe, who is based in London. The Europe Finance team serves as an integral part of the wider global finance team, reporting into the US-based Corporate Finance team, with regular contact across regions including North America, MENA, and Asia. APCO uses Maconomy for its ERP/accounting system and is a major user of Microsoft business products including Microsoft Teams


Role Overview:



The Head of Financial Planning, Analysis, and Business Management is a Director-level position responsible for the financial oversight of APCO entities in the UK, France, Belgium, Germany, Italy and Israel. This role will also interact with affiliates in other markets, which may change according to business requirements.


The role is responsible for delivering high-quality financial reporting and data analytics to aid decision-making. As a key part of the regional leadership, the role involves presenting analysis to the Regional leadership team, who will rely on this analysis for commercial decision-making.


Key Responsibilities:



Financial Analysis & Reporting : Leading the Reporting team, deliver high-quality financial reporting and data analysis and insights to aid in profitable decision-making. Provide senior regional management with regular feedback and communication with respect to variations between plan and actuals, including the projected impact to future results, and communicates regularly with the team throughout the reporting cycle, providing timely updates, expert analysis, and responses to inquiries. Team Management : Proactively mentor, inspire and develop direct reports and the wider team, with robust and thoughtful goal setting, and a real focus on take-up of technology to drive continuous improvement in quality, effectiveness standardisation, and efficiency of processes. Budgeting and Forecasting : Work closely with the European regional leadership team to own and develop long-term 3-year strategic plans, and own the timeline for delivering 3-year plans and monthly forecasts, leading on ensuring that forecasts and budgets reflect the latest business information. Provide substantive analytical support to regional management as part of the monthly and quarterly review cycles, including helping business leads understand trends and anomalies in the business results. Stakeholder Communication : Communicate financial insights and recommendations effectively to stakeholders at all levels of the organization, leveraging management reports and dashboards to create maximum effectiveness and efficiency, whilst maximising stakeholder engagement. Client Performance Analysis : Proactively analyse client performance and pricing, for efficiency and profitability and make recommendations to regional management of areas of focus and trends. Best Practices Implementation : Leverage software and automation to optimise processes, focus on flexibility and consolidation in the operating model, and give greater insight on and control over discretionary spend activity. Performance Metric s: Enhance, develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track business performance and support strategic decision-making Scenario Planning : Conduct scenario planning and sensitivity analysis to evaluate the potential impact of different strategic initiatives and market conditions, with a cadence of reporting that enables the business to react quickly as needed. Global Engagement : Engage, provide support and leadership in approved and ad-hoc global financial projects as needed.

Leadership: Proven leadership and organisational skills with the ability to inspire and develop a high-performing team, as well as working collaboratively across teams. Task Management: Ability to work in an extremely fast-paced environment with rapidly changing business priorities while managing region-wide processes and deadlines with the appropriate eye for accuracy and completeness. Advanced Financial Modeling : Expertise in building complex financial models to support strategic planning and decision-making. Data Visualization : Proficiency in data visualisation tools such as Power BI or Tableau to present financial data in a clear and compelling manner. Systems Knowledge : Familiarity with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, Financial Planning/management reporting systems ( e.g. Cognos, Adaptive etc.) Analytical Thinking : Strong analytical skills to interpret financial data and provide actionable insights. Communication : Excellent communication skills in English ( both oral and written) to effectively convey complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.

Qualifications:



Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent) with 10-15+ years post-qualification experience, with significant experience in the Professional Services or Marketing Services sector, in a regional or corporate HQ. Degree educated - demonstrating self-starting ability, energy, initiative, and proactiveness.
