About the Division
This Regional Engagement Coordinator role is located in the Wellbeing and Engagement Branch, Student Wellbeing and Engagement Division, North West Victoria Region, SRS. The Student Wellbeing and Engagement Division works closely with education area teams and key central office program areas to promote and support regional and statewide consistency and lead professional practice and coordination across the region relating to:
school services and support
student health, wellbeing and engagement support
The Division is responsible for leading a team of professionals who:
provide coordination and oversight of the delivery of services that support the health, wellbeing and engagement of children and young people, particularly the vulnerable, to enable them to learn and develop to their full potential.
support services, where appropriate, to improve the wellbeing, learning and development outcomes of the children, young people and adult learners who use their services
ensure strong service provision across the region.
About the Role
The Regional Engagement Coordinator (Senior Communication and Engagement Advisor) provides oversight of expulsion related processes and is a key point of contact for principals and regional teams. The Regional Engagement Coordinator contributes to a coordinated and consistent approach for students presenting with complex needs and behaviours. They support the development and provision of guidance and resources to enable:
support for principals in their work with students with complex needs and those at risk of expulsion, particularly those from vulnerable and/or priority cohorts;
coordination of regional responses related to the expulsion process; and
support for students, families and schools during and after the expulsion process.
The role requires knowledge of multi-disciplinary interventions, trauma-informed practice, behaviour support and approaches to support student engagement. The REC is required to work collaboratively with other regional and local area-based staff.
