Service is at the heart of the team at 2Agriculture where over 350 employees work across 7 sites. Our feed mills operate to the highest standards set for product quality, with a specialist production team monitoring output ensuring zero or minimal mill downtime. Our fleet of over 40 Lorries operate 24/7 ensuring feed arrives on time and in full, with a real focus on biosecurity prior to delivery, on site and during departure.
Role Profile
Reporting to the Group Health, Safety and Environmental Manager, this role will assist in generating and promoting a positive Health & Safety culture within the workplace. They will advise on all aspects of Health & Safety, ensuring compliance with legislation and adherence to best practice at all times in order to deliver business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Support the Group Health, Safety and Environmental Manager to meet the requirements and duties of the Health & Safety function across 2Agriculture Sites in the West
Implement all Health & Safety policies and procedures ensuring compliance with legislation and aligned to best practice.
Responsibility to ensure that feed is made and handled in a way that all Food safety standards and requirements are adhered to, maintaining standards of good practice to minimise any food safety risk to both the birds consuming the feed and the end consumer.
Proactively engage and educate all 2Agriculture employees on the importance and relevance of Quality and Safety, delivering safety awareness programmes as required.
Support the implementation of the Environmental policy and associated procedures ensuring compliance with legislation and aligned to best practice.
Be actively involved in the implementation and maintenance of an effective Risk Management system to ensure a safe working environment.
Pro-actively identify areas of concern to Health & Safety, escalating where necessary and following up to ensure corrective actions implemented.
Manage the sites accident reporting system, carrying out thorough investigation and corrective action as necessary.
Maintain audit standards and ensure corrective processes are in place to address non-conformances.
Professionally represent the company with external and regulatory bodies as required, securing the relevant operation permits to ensure legal compliance.
Support the induction process of new employees by delivering training from a health and safety perspective.
Support the development and maintenance of equipment and systems to secure the effective protection of our people.
Drive continuous improvement, proactively reviewing current methodology and opportunities to improve the sites efficiency, safety, quality and performance.
Lead and implement key Health & Safety projects and initiatives as required, effectively utilising the allocated budget in order to deliver business objectives.
Liaise with other key operational areas to ensure the efficient flow of information so all internal and external customer requirements are met.
Manage and maintain all sites waste to the correct environment agency standards.
Undertake any reasonable task as required and as directed by the operational management team.
Person Specification
Qualifications & Experience
Minimum GCSE level C or equivalent in Maths and English.
Proven experience as a Health, Safety and Environmental practitioner.
Experience of leading HSE projects delivering positive outputs for the business.
Experience of delivery HSE based internal training.
Strong experience in manging the auditing process and a track record of enabling full compliance in both internal and external audits.
Experience of managing accident reporting systems, undertaking investigations and implementing corrective actions.
Experience within a production environment would be advantageous.
NEBOSH National certificate in occupational health and safety.
NEBOSH or IOSH Environmental Management certificate would be advantageous.
Excellent knowledge of IT systems and management of HSE databases.
Full UK driving licence and car to travel among sites.
