A look into the role...
The purpose of the Regional Sales Manager-Store Projects is to drive the Wholesale and Retail Sales through the leadership of a team of mixed roles and to ensure that our new and existing retailers are achieving expecting margins through the highest delivery of retail operating standards.
It is also the responsibility of the RSM Store Projects to interface with Fresh Foods, Retail Services, Property and the Business Transformation team to ensure the implementation of best practice initiatives and internal process efficiency projects.
Working as Regional Sales Manager, you will:

  • Provide effective leadership and management to your direct reports to ensure that they are well motivated and properly supported to achieve business targets and objectives.
  • To drive sales at both wholesale and retail levels to ensure maximum performance against budget.
  • Support the Regional Manager-Sales in the event of the Store Projects Manager having to manage a franchised store, ensuring full legal compliance is adhered to and store objectives are met.
  • To plan and support the opening of a new store ensuring that all procedures, policies and legislation are in place to deliver a successful business.
  • Work closely with other departments within the Henderson Group and ensure that new initiatives are delivered in an efficient and consistent manner.
  • Develop and coach retailers to continually improve their businesses introducing effective plans to increase customer's margins and reduce their costs.
  • Work closely with Henderson Academy to produce relevant retailer workshops and support Store Project Managers in the delivery and follow up of these.
  • Monitor and implement company auditing systems to ensure maximum gross profits are achieved. Report findings and ensure corrective action is taken when necessary.
  • Maximise the use of our Scanning system as an aid to drive profitability.
Skills for Success
Joining us as Regional Sales Manager - Store Projects, the minimum criteria you will need is:
  • Previous operational store management experience (minimum 2 years) within the convenience/grocery sector.
  • Project management experience in the convenience/grocery sector.
  • Ability to train and encourage staff to adopt and implement processes and procedures.
  • Proven track record in delivering sales and profit targets in the convenience/grocery sector and the ability to create action plans for improvement.
  • Strong leader with a proven ability to motivate and develop a team of people.
  • Knowledge of the Microsoft Office 365 applications.
  • Previous experience of change and process improvement initiatives.
  • Full and valid UK/Irish driving licence.

This is a full-time position working 42.5 hours per week. Please note that candidates must be able to reside within daily commuting distance.
