Overview



We are seeking a dynamic leader to spearhead the efficient operation of our Region, which includes SME, Brand Partners, Wholesale, and George Burrows.

This role also encompasses the strategic oversight of the Affinity & Bank teams, with a focus on driving growth across UK Retail.

As the leader, you will instil a vibrant Sales and Marketing culture within the Region & Affinities, ensuring excellent client conduct and customer outcomes. Your leadership will be instrumental in building an engaged, high-performing team committed to achieving financial, customer, and colleague KPIs.

In this role, you will drive continuous improvement for both customers and colleagues, working closely with senior business leaders, US stakeholders, and third parties to deliver on the UK strategic and annual business plans.

You will ensure compliance with company and regulatory requirements while effectively meeting the needs of customers, regulators, colleagues, and US stakeholders.

Your responsibilities include delivering on financial performance targets and establishing a strong business partnering model to support other functions, facilitating the successful execution of our business strategy.

How you'll make an impact

1. Deliver the Regional & Affinity Strategy

Work closely with senior leaders to ensure the effective delivery of the Regional & Affinity Partnerships strategy Monitor performance against plans and report on performance, any issues, and solutions to your manager Seek out customer feedback to continuously improve the Region & Affinity partnerships Build and maintain strong working relationships with key stakeholders to gain insight to the business and control environment Communicate even ambiguous and complex information in a clear and impactful manner, making use of a wide range of communication channels Create and sustain a Sales and Marketing culture to drive profitable growth via ensuring, across the Region & Affinity Partnerships, and in-line with the prevailing processes and guidelines applicable within UK Retail:

o Adherence to sales and retention management processes including creation, regular review and monitoring against plans

o Evidence of focused weekly sales and case management meetings

o Utilisation of local, Regional and Central Sales and Marketing resources and expertise

o Personally support client activity including creating and utilising professional networks
o Adherence to placement guidelines giving clear rationale where business placed outside said guidelines

o Drive lead generation and cross-sell activity across UK retail and the wider AJG group

o Drive utilisation of Specialisms/niche expertise

o Drive successful migration of defined SME business to centralised SME business centres and/or adoption of standardised SME processes where appropriate

o In accordance with good client outcomes drive non-risk income performance e.g. GBA, administration fees, premium finance, risk management services etc., driversEnsure there is a real understanding of the importance and relevance of Client Conduct and risk issues throughout the region, as evidenced by the actions of the RMD and each of the Heads of Office within the region. Key areas of focus will include, but not be limited to:

o Ensuring that all colleagues comply with the requirements of the Professional Standards Manual, Policies and Control Frameworks and Standard Operating Procedures which are in force

o Understanding the conduct risk data for the region and determining any actions which are required to address any shortcomings

o To work with the Legal team in understanding the outcome from any E&O issues which arise and to develop any mitigating actions which may be required

o Ensuring that all colleagues are able to demonstrate their competence through adherence to the Training & Competency framework

o Ensure that any findings from Quality Assurance, Regulatory Assurance and Internal Audit reviews are attended to in accordance with agreed timeframesAct as a positive ambassador for the company with clients, local communities, professional bodies and other networks.

2. Financial and Data Management



Develop the business plan and budget for the Region in line with business objectives Drive and deliver achievement against the P&L Effectively manage the Regional budget Ensure that any reporting units operate within budget requirements, adjusting where necessary in order to meet agreed commitments Present and report accurate and timely data to support the running of the business

3. Lead and Develop the Region & Affinity Partnerships



Create an inclusive, engaged and motivated team culture to achieve optimum performance Review engagement survey results and ensure appropriate actions are taken as required Lead and/or participate in change programmes across the business finding creative ways to embed and adapt to change Ensure that clear objectives are set, regular individual performance reviews are carried out and that rewards are directly linked to behaviours and performance against objectives Oversee the development and training of the team, including the promotion of continuous professional development and advocacy of professional qualifications Through effective succession planning, seek opportunities to develop team members that could become future managers and leaders of the Region or within the wider business Effective resource planning through monitoring retention risks and promptly acting to mitigate these to avoid skill or knowledge gaps that could impact the business Ensure that recruitment and selection within your Region carried out in a fair and effective way Regular and effective team communication i.e. monthly office team meetings covering office performance against key metrics, retention and sales activity and priorities, trading and other initiatives Scan the local external market and build a pipeline for talented individuals who could assist growth in the Region

4. Risk and Governance



Responsible for ensuring the effective implementation of the Enterprise Risk Management Framework within the Region Accountable for the identification, management, mitigation and reporting of all risks arising from the operation of the Region in accordance with the Enterprise Risk Management Framework Ensure the Enterprise Risk Management Framework is considered when developing and maintaining all policies, process, system and management information Ensure the Region conduct business in an appropriate manner in adherence to Gallagher policies and procedures Accountable for ensuring team members within the Region complete mandatory training, minimum continuous professional development (CPD) hours, annual performance reviews and goal setting Role model good conduct and ensure that any breach of the conduct rules are reported and appropriate action is taken Carry out the role in accordance with the FCA's Senior Manager & Certification Regime requirements and remain mindful at all times of the FCA's Principles for Business

5. Participation on Boards and Committees



Member or attendance of such other Boards and Committees within the GGB-UK group of which you may from time to time be required to attend or act as a member



About You

Qualifications



Educated to degree level or equivalent desired Advanced ACII (desirable)

Technical Knowledge



Previously held a Certified role or demonstrates a good understanding of the requirements Knowledge of general insurance products, services, and classes of insurance including underlying legal principles and practices relating to risk within own role capacity desired Sound understanding of commercial insurance and/or personal insurance lines and/or relevant specialist lines (as appropriate based on configuration of the branch) Knowledge of FCA regulations

Experience and Skills



Significant people development and management experience essential Business acumen experience in commerciality and risk awareness Ability to build rapport, establish credibility and to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels, internally and externally Results-oriented mind-set with a drive for growth High degree of self-awareness and self-management Excellent oral and written communication skills Experience of working in a global, matrix-managed organisation, with the upmost integrity and confidentiality
