This is a role based in the Southwest England and Wales territory, so it is required to live within the mentioned territory.

The Position

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced medical professional to join our team as a Regional Medical Advisor in the therapeutic area of Obesity. As The Regional Medical Advisor, you will play a critical role in supporting the healthcare industry in Wales and Southwest England by providing expert medical guidance, training, and support to healthcare professionals in both NHS and private market.

The key purpose will be to develop regional medical advisory services for healthcare professionals. The main overall objective of the role is to ensure local Healthcare Professionals (HCPs) understand the scientific basis for and clinical value of Novo Nordisk products for the treatment of Obesity.

In this role, you will:

  • Identify, contact, develop and maintain relations with key influencers and major institutions in the health care sector
  • Assist in the development of medical educational initiatives for external stakeholders within obesity business unit
  • Provide medical input and support to Clinical Research activities
  • Support sales and marketing with medical advice for customers and provide medical advice and training to Novo Nordisk employees in the region.
  • Have ability and willingness to quickly adapt to new situations in a continuously evolving environment.
This role will require travel, but you will also need experience using teams for virtual meetings.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate is a medical doctor (GMC registered) or clinical pharmacist with clinical experience in obesity, or PhD in related area (e.g., obesity, type 2 diabetes, Metabolic syndrome) with prior experience in the field of obesity/metabolic disease.

On top of what we would expect:
  • Good understanding of the UK NHS environment
  • A holder of valid driving licence and willing to travel.
  • Strong communication and networking capability together with excellent presentation and training skills
About the Department

Medical Affairs is a department within the Clinical, Medical & Regulatory (CMR) department, responsible for the medical and scientific dialogue supporting the appropriate use of innovative treatments including Novo Nordisk products. Medical Affairs ensure that Novo Nordisk\'s activities are undertaken in an ethical and appropriately scientific manner, thereby safeguarding the trust and respect of health care professionals and patients. The Department is divided into an office team of Medical Advisors and a field team of Regional Medical Advisors and obesity education facilitators.
