Location:

Bedford / Surrounding areas (Hybrid / On-site at secure locations)

Salary:

40,000 - 45,000 + Bonuses

Role Summary



We are seeking a

Regional Supervisor

with proven experience managing construction works within secure facilities such as HM Prisons. The successful candidate will lead operational delivery on-site, maintain strong client relationships, and ensure safety and compliance are always prioritised.

Key Responsibilities



Operational Leadership



Supervise daily site operations across multiple prison and secure environment projects. Maintain high safety and quality standards, ensuring staff follow strict prison security protocols. Lead by example with hands-on involvement and proactive problem-solving.

Health & Safety / Compliance



Ensure full compliance with site safety, prison security rules, and industry regulations. Conduct site inductions, daily briefings, and regular inspections to mitigate risk. Keep H&S documentation up to date (RAMS, tool checks, near misses, incident reporting).

Project Delivery & Reporting



Oversee on-site progress and liaise regularly with Project Managers and Head Office. Report daily on works status, issues, and progress against programme. Use systems like Monday.com for live project tracking and communication.

Client & Stakeholder Liaison



Build and maintain positive working relationships with prison estates teams, security staff, and other stakeholders. Represent Sanper professionally at all times, ensuring seamless communication and trust.

Team & Site Management



Manage site teams and subcontractors, enforcing discipline and efficiency. Ensure all works are completed safely, on time, and to the required standard. Support and mentor staff to work effectively within security-controlled environments.

Hands-On Approach



Support the team with technical input and on-the-ground problem solving. Carry out practical construction tasks when required.

Required Skills & Experience



Essential:

5+ years in construction site supervision or management. Previous experience delivering works in HM Prisons or similarly secure environments. Proven leadership on refurbishment, maintenance, and minor works projects. Strong understanding of RAMS, prison permits, and secure site protocols. Excellent communication and leadership skills. Competency in Microsoft Office and project management tools (e.g., Monday.com).

Preferred Qualifications:

SSSTS or SMSTS (required). First Aid at Work. IOSH Managing Safely (preferred). GNVQ / NVQ in Construction (desirable). CSCS (Desired) E1 / E2 / CTC vetting (Essential to either already have in place, or, to pass the approval process during probation period)
