We are seeking an experienced, compassionate, and proactive
Residential Care Home Manager
to lead our 18-bed care home for the elderly in the heart of West Cumbria.
This is a rare opportunity to take charge of a small, homely environment with a proud 39-year history of delivering exceptional, person-centred care. As part of our family-run company -- comprising one residential and one nursing home -- you'll be supported by a dedicated team of skilled carers, nurses, and support staff who share our ethos of kindness, dignity, and respect.
The Role
You will oversee the day-to-day operations of our residential home, ensuring full compliance with CQC regulations and all relevant legislation. Key responsibilities include:
Leading and inspiring staff to deliver high-quality, person-centred care.
Maintaining exceptional care standards and a safe, supportive environment.
Managing occupancy, budgets, and resources effectively.
Liaising with regulators, local authorities, and families.
Ensuring adherence to policies, procedures, and safeguarding frameworks, including DoLS.
Taking full responsibility for resident wellbeing, choice, and independence.
What We're Looking For
A recognised Level 5 social care qualification (or willingness to work towards it).
Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop teams.
Confident, self-motivated, and capable of independent decision-making.
A positive, approachable, and open communication style.
Own transport (business mileage allowance provided).
Commitment to achieving CQC registration.
