We are seeking a passionate, experienced and highly competent
Registered Manager
to lead the home, guide the team, and ensure full compliance with Ofsted regulations.
Role Overview
As the Registered Manager, you will be responsible for:
Leading the operational management of the home in line with Ofsted regulations and the Children's Homes Regulations 2015.
Ensuring the highest standards of care, safeguarding, and support for young people.
Managing staff performance, recruitment, training, and supervision.
Maintaining high-quality care plans, risk assessments, and reporting systems.
Overseeing budgets, audits, and regulatory inspections.
Promoting a positive culture based on respect, empowerment, and child-centred care.
Ensuring the home meets the requirements to achieve and maintain a
Good
or
Outstanding
Ofsted rating.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and inspire a professional care team.
Ensure all staff deliver trauma-informed, therapeutic, and child-centred support.
Maintain compliance with the Children's Homes Regulations and Quality Standards.
Ensure robust safeguarding practices and incident reporting.
Engage with local authorities, social workers, families, and external professionals.
Oversee rota planning, staffing levels, and team development.
Drive continuous improvement across the service.
Essential Requirements
Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare (or working towards).
Minimum
2 years' experience
in a leadership role within a children's residential care home.
Strong understanding of safeguarding, trauma-informed practice, and child protection frameworks.
Experience preparing for and participating in Ofsted inspections.
Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills.
Ability to inspire staff and create a positive team culture.
Full UK driving licence (preferred).
Desirable Skills
Experience opening a new Ofsted-registered home.
Knowledge of therapeutic models of care.
Strong track record of achieving "Good" or "Outstanding" Ofsted ratings.
