The Role
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Manager to lead a therapeutic children's home and inspire a team of care professionals. You will ensure excellent outcomes for children, support your team, and maintain the highest standards of care in line with statutory guidance and regulatory frameworks.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage your home, providing visible and supportive leadership to your Care Team.
Ensure compliance with the Regulation & Inspection of Social Care (Wales) Act 2016, Social Services and Wellbeing (Wales) Act 2014, and other relevant legislation.
Act as the Designated Safeguarding Lead for the home, ensuring timely referrals and safeguarding procedures are followed.
Develop and maintain positive relationships with children, staff, regulators, placing authorities, and other stakeholders.
Oversee admissions, compatibility risk assessments, and discharge planning.
Ensure that all staff receive appropriate supervision, training, and professional development.
Provide a therapeutic, nurturing, and loving environment for children and staff.
Contribute to out-of-hours on-call rota as required.
Monitor quality assurance, audits, and regulatory compliance, ensuring continuous improvement.
What We're Looking For
Hold at least Diploma Level 3 in Caring for Children and Young People or equivalent (as approved by Social Care Wales).
Minimum of 5 years proven experience in children's residential care, with leadership and team management skills.
Knowledge of therapeutic care, trauma-informed practice, and safeguarding legislation.
Ability to mentor, coach, and develop staff to achieve their full potential.
Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
