The Registered Manager will be responsible for the effective day-to-day management, leadership, and operational oversight of The Grange Residential Care Home, a service supporting up to nine adults with learning disabilities. The post holder will ensure the delivery of high-quality, person-centred care in line with regulatory requirements, organisational expectations, and best practice standards. The Manager will be supported by a Deputy Manager and HR functions.
Key Responsibilities: Leadership and Operational Management Provide strong, transparent leadership to the staff team, promoting a culture of professionalism, accountability, and continuous improvement. Oversee the daily running of the home, ensuring smooth, efficient, and compliant operations at all times. Work in partnership with the Deputy Manager and HR to maintain effective staffing levels, performance, and staff wellbeing. Ensure the home environment is safe, welcoming, and conducive to the wellbeing of all residents. Regulatory Compliance Ensure full compliance with CQC regulations, the Health and Social Care Act, and all relevant legislation.Maintain accurate, detailed records, audits, and reports in accordance with regulatory and organisational requirements. Prepare for and actively participate in inspections, promptly addressing any areas for improvement. Quality of Care and Support Promote and embed person-centred care practices throughout the home. Oversee the development, implementation, and review of personalised care plans, support plans, and risk assessments. Ensure safeguarding policies are adhered to and that all concerns are reported, recorded, and managed appropriately. Monitor outcomes for residents and ensure their rights, dignity, choices, and independence are consistently upheld. Staff Management and Development Work closely with HR to recruit, induct, and retain skilled and values-driven staff. Provide regular supervision, performance reviews, and ongoing support for the staff team. Identify and address training needs, ensuring staff receive mandatory and developmental training. Promote a positive working culture that values teamwork, professionalism, and continuous learning.Financial and Resource Management Manage the home's budget responsibly, ensuring financial sustainability and effective use of resources.Oversee staff rotas to maintain safe staffing levels while ensuring cost-effectiveness. Ensure the building, equipment, and resources are well maintained and meet health and safety standards.6. Communication and External Relationships Build and maintain positive, professional relationships with residents, families, advocates, external agencies, and the wider community. Communicate effectively and transparently with all stakeholders. Represent The Grange Residential Care Home at meetings and in professional forums when required.
Person Specification Essential: Proven experience in a supervisory or management role within adult social care, ideally supporting individuals with learning disabilities.Strong working knowledge of CQC standards and regulatory frameworks.Excellent leadership, communication, organisational, and decision-making skills.Commitment to promoting independence, dignity, and quality of life for residents.Ability to manage competing priorities and work under pressure.
Desirable: Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Health and Social Care (or willingness to work toward this qualification).Experience managing a small residential setting. Knowledge of positive behaviour support (PBS) and person-centred planning.
Essential: The candidate should have a full u.k driving licence
