We are currently looking to recruit a proven Care Home Manager for our small, friendly, family run residential home.

The home benefits from a fantastic rural village setting, surrounded by some of the finest British countryside in the heart of the South Downs National Park near Midhurst, West Sussex.

The home's CQC overall rating has been consistently "Good" and the home is renowned for providing first rate care and support. The home has catered for up to 17 older persons for over 35 years. It's dedicated, personable, and long service staff always strive to create a warm, relaxed, and homely atmosphere.

As registered manager it will be your responsibility to effectively manage all aspects of the general day-to-day operations of the home. Most importantly, ensuring that the care culture and care delivery is of the highest quality; promoting safety; well-being; and enhancing the quality of life for our service users/residents.

With a kind, caring and calm approach the successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, be commercially aware along with the ability to establish and maintain relationships with residents and their family members, colleagues, and health professionals.

An introduction period including training of the home's control systems will be provided.

Duties and Responsibilities:



To ensure that each resident is assessed for need and has a formally developed care plan, ensuring the involvement of the resident and his/her family or relatives as required. To ensure the appropriate individual care is given to each resident in accordance with the care plans.

Manage and maximise occupancy, by building a positive local reputation and through creative marketing strategies.

The direct management of all staff including HR matters, supervisions, appraisals, staff training, and disciplinary action where necessary.

Preparation of staff rosters to ensure the provision of adequate staff cover on all shifts in line with our residents needs with the emphasis on person centred care.

To conduct staff meeting and ensure that minutes of such meetings are communicated to all staff.

To be responsible for the receipt, handling storage, administration and disposal of all drugs and medicines in line with documented procedures and to maintain necessary records.

To ensure compliance with all statutory and regulatory requirements.

To ensure all Health and Safety regulations are met including the generation of notifications in relation to accidents suffered by residents, staff or visitors in line with R.I.D.D.O.R (1995) requirements.

To keep abreast of all new legislations and regulations.

To ensure smooth operation of the homes quality management system.

To liaise with social services and the community mental health team as required.

Undertake monthly audit of care plans.

Maintaining infection control protocols.

Maintaining financial efficiency and budgets for the home.

To undertake other duties as necessary.

The Ideal Candidate:



MUST put the residents' first in all decision-making processes.



MUST have previous experience of managing a residential care home for older people.



MUST be a transformational leader.



MUST be working towards or have successfully achieved the Level 5 Diploma in Leadership in Health and Social Care.



MUST have a driver's license.



*Appointment subject to a successful CQC Registered Manager application.

Pay: From 40,000.00 per year
