Open Arms Children's home is a new and committed provider in the process of registering our first children's home with Ofsted. Our aim is to create a safe, supportive, and stable environment where children and young people feel valued and protected.

Our first home will be a 3 bed, EBD home for children aged 10 to 17. We are currently seeking a Registered Manager to lead the home as we move through registration and prepare to begin operations. This is a unique opportunity to join at the very start and help shape the culture and direction of the home.

Who We're Looking For:

We are open to:

- Experienced Registered Managers, or

- Deputy Managers ready to step up into a Registered Manager role. You will receive full support and training from an experienced children's residential care consultant, including preparation for the Fit Person Interview with Ofsted.

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead and manage the home in accordance with the Children's Homes Regulations 2015 and Quality Standards.

- Promote a strong culture of safeguarding, staff accountability, and professional care practices.

- Ensure that children's welfare and wellbeing are central to the daily running of the home.

- Manage the staff team, including recruitment, supervision, and ongoing development.

- Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, policies, and inspection standards.

- Build and maintain effective partnerships with external agencies, professionals, and families.

Person Specification:

Essential:

- A minimum of 2 years' experience working in a residential childcare setting.

- At least 2 years in a supervisory position (e.g., Deputy Manager, Team Leader).

- Strong understanding of Children's Homes Regulations 2015 and Working Together to Safeguard Children 2023.

- A willingness to work towards Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management if not already held.

- Ability to lead, motivate, and develop staff teams effectively.

Desirable:

- Already Ofsted-registered as a Registered Manager or Deputy confident to step up.

- Experience supporting a new home registration or undergoing a Fit Person Interview.
