We are seeking a Children Homes Manager to provide professional leadership and management for a solo children's home, ensuring high standards of care and outcomes for one young person . The manager will be responsible for the overall day-to-day running of the home, maintaining compliance with all relevant legislation (e.g. Children's Homes Regulations), and creating a safe, nurturing, and therapeutic environment where the child can thrive.
Duties
Lead the home in line with the organisation's values, safeguarding policies, and regulatory standards.
Supervise and support staff to ensure consistent, trauma-informed care.
Develop and maintain a positive culture within the home, focusing on child-centred care.
Take the lead in care planning and reviews, ensuring that the young person's needs are met and their voice is heard.
Ensure all staff are trained, inducted, and supported in line with best practices and regulatory requirements.
Be the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) for the home.
Ensure full compliance with Ofsted, Children's Homes (England) Regulations 2015, and Quality Standards.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, including risk assessments, care plans, and incident reports.
Prepare for and lead on Ofsted inspections and other external audits.
Qualifications
Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or willingness to complete).
Minimum 2 years' experience working with children in a residential setting.
Proven leadership or management experience.
Strong understanding of safeguarding, child development, and trauma-informed care.
Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
