Destined Home Care Support Limited is preparing to open a new 4-bed Children's Home in Bedford and is seeking an experienced and motivated Registered Manager to lead the service. This is a key leadership position requiring a strong understanding of residential childcare and the regulatory landscape, paired with a commitment to delivering exceptional outcomes for children and young people.

About the Role

The Registered Manager will oversee all aspects of the home's operation, ensuring compliance, quality, and a nurturing environment for residents. The role calls for a proactive leader who brings confidence, stability, and professional expertise to a new service.

Key Responsibilities

Provide strategic and operational leadership for the day-to-day running of the home. Ensure high standards of care, safeguarding, and emotional support for children and young people. Maintain full compliance with Ofsted regulations, Children's Homes (England) Regulations 2015, and all statutory requirements. Lead, supervise, and develop a committed staff team, promoting a culture focused on continuous improvement. Manage financial planning and budget oversight for the home. Build effective communication and working relationships with young people, families, staff, local authorities, and external partners. Drive quality assurance processes, audits, and improvement initiatives to ensure consistently high standards of service delivery.

Requirements

Level 5 qualification in Residential Childcare or an equivalent leadership and management qualification. Minimum of two years' experience in a leadership role within a children's residential setting, ideally supporting children with emotional or behavioural needs and/or learning disabilities. Strong leadership, organisational, and decision-making abilities. Comprehensive understanding of Ofsted regulations and the operational requirements of a children's home. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage confidently with professionals and families. A strong commitment to promoting positive outcomes and supporting young people to achieve their full potential.

Pay: 28,635.55-40,000.00 per year
