We are searching for Band 5 Nurse to come and join our nursing team at HMP Nottingham with development into the band 6 role- could this be you?



The post requires an individual with good communication skills who has the ability to work within a team under the guidance of the Mental Health team within HMP Nottingham.



Band 5 mental health nurses are required to compliment the current nursing establishment, enhance the skill mix and become an integral member of the service with the position of developing into the band 6 role.



We are looking for band 5 nurses to join our dedicated Nursing teams who are committed and passionate about promoting health, well-being and independence. We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic clinician who believes in the provision of patient-centred care



Applicants must be flexible, hardworking and compassionate with a desire to work in a fast pace environment. You will have access to training and development, annual appraisals and managerial and clinical supervision.



A full UK driving licence and vehicle for business use is required for this post; however reasonable adjustments will be made for disabled individuals in line with the Equality Act 2010.

Essential requirements:



Understanding of mental health diagnosis



Understand Clinical Risk



An understanding and willingness to understand and participate in ACCT reviews

Understand and utilise care plans to effectively deliver care to patients

Ability to function within a full multidisciplinary team

Good oral and written communication



Ability to deliver group and 1:1 sessions following training and guidance

Ability to develop professional working relationships with a challenging patient group.

An understanding of the importance of working closely with patients and their family/friends/carers.

Evidence of ability to work within a multi-disciplinary team.



You must be a registered Nurse, registered with the NMC.



You should possess good interpersonal and time management skills, be a good communicator, organised and able to prioritise and work well as a member of a team. You will be providing mental health support within a prison setting. You must be able to demonstrate a professional manner at all times to patients, relatives and staff of all levels.



Please note applicants will be required to pay for their DBS check. Costs are deducted from salary following appointment. The cost of the DBS application is 26.40 (standard) or 54.40 (enhanced), this cost will be deducted from your salary over the first 2 months of employment.



You are encouraged to enrol for the DBS Update Service. An annual fee of 16 per year applies.
