As a Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) Jobs in Leeds, you'll have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of others in the area. You'll work in various healthcare and social care settings across Leeds as a Medicare People Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN), providing high-quality, advanced support to individuals who require assistance due to factors such as age, mental illness, or disability.


We have a number of RMN shifts available across different settings in Leeds.


What You'll Do


------------------

Provide expert care tailored to individual needs, ensuring dignity and comfort. Support with personal care tasks including bathing, dressing, and hygiene, while promoting independence. Assist patients with mobility and transfers, utilising safe handling techniques and mobility aids. Lead on medication administration, ensuring accurate and safe delivery while following strict protocols. Supervise and mentor junior carers, offering guidance and leadership in care practices. Facilitate nutritional support, including meal preparation, feeding, and hydration, in line with dietary needs. Build strong relationships with patients and families, providing emotional support and reassurance. Monitor and record patient health changes, reporting promptly to healthcare professionals. Maintain a clean, safe, and positive environment, fostering well-being for those under your care. Work collaboratively with the healthcare team to ensure optimum care outcomes. Uphold clear and empathetic communication with patients, families, and colleagues. Ensure accurate, up-to-date documentation in accordance with regulatory and organisational guidelines.

REQUIREMENTS:

Medication competent

, with experience administering psychotropic and other mental health-related medications safely and in line with guidelines.

Experienced in managing epilepsy and other co-existing health conditions

often seen in mental health settings.

Skilled in de-escalation and behaviour management techniques

, with a calm and compassionate approach during challenging situations.

Competent in delivering personal care

when required, while maintaining patient dignity and promoting independence.

Supports therapeutic engagement

through structured activities, including daily routines, meal preparation, and social interaction.

Promotes a clean, organised, and calming environment

conducive to mental and emotional well-being.

Encourages community involvement and social engagement

, supporting service users with outdoor activities such as walks and therapeutic outings.

Highly proactive and reliable

, with a strong sense of accountability in both lone and team-based settings.

Demonstrates initiative and responsiveness

, especially in dynamic and unpredictable environments.

Builds meaningful therapeutic relationships

What You'll Bring

A minimum of 12 months relevant RMN experience in the UK. Compassion, patience, and exceptional leadership skills. A commitment to providing high-quality, person-centred care. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a healthcare team. Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to build trust and rapport. Experience in medication administration and a sound understanding of care planning. A proactive approach to mentoring and supporting junior carers.
