We are currently recruiting a compassionate, motivated, and experienced
Midwife
to join our maternity team based in
Preston
. Whether you are newly qualified or an experienced practitioner, we welcome applications from midwives who are passionate about delivering high-quality, women-centred care.
You will work as part of a dedicated team supporting expectant mothers and their families throughout the antenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal journey. This is a rewarding opportunity to work in a dynamic, friendly, and forward-thinking maternity service.
Key Responsibilities
Provide high-standard midwifery care across antenatal, labour, and postnatal services.
Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualised care plans in partnership with women and their families.
Act as the lead professional in normal births, supporting physiological childbirth in hospital and community settings.
Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, including obstetricians, neonatologists, health visitors, and other allied professionals.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation in line with NMC and local guidelines.
Support student midwives and junior staff through mentorship and education.
Requirements
Registered Midwife with a valid
NMC PIN
.
Excellent clinical knowledge of current maternity practice and guidelines.
Strong communication, advocacy, and decision-making skills.
Ability to remain calm under pressure and manage complex or emergency situations.
Commitment to delivering safe, respectful, and inclusive care.
Desirable:
Experience in community midwifery or home births.
NIPE qualification (or willingness to complete).
Mentor or preceptorship training.
