More detail about the role This is a fantastic opportunity for a Registered Nurse to apply and be part of the Clinical Day Case Unit/Theatre Team, offering excellent patient care and experience at the Centre of Excellence for Eyes at the Nightingale Hospital. This postholder will be responsible for supporting and assessing cataract patients on the see and treat pathway from admission through to discharge. Pre op diagnostic tests to be performed on the day of surgery to include: visual acuity assessment using LOGMAR, Administering eye drops for ocular examination, performing intra ocular pressure readings using eyecare equipment, optical biometry calculations and Optical Coherence Tomography testing.



The post requires someone who is adaptable and able to work both in theatre scrubbing and circulating as well as on the day case ward. Applicants will need to be open to new ways of working to support us to deliver our vision for high volume Ophthalmic Day Case Surgery. It would be advantageous for applicants to have knowledge and clinical skills in admissions and day case surgery. Previous Ophthalmic experience is not essential as all in house training and support will be provided by our friendly team.

Working Pattern:

28.5 hours per week.
