We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Intensive Care Unit (ICU) team. As an integral part of our healthcare facility, you will provide high-quality patient care to critically ill patients, ensuring their comfort and safety. This role requires a deep understanding of anatomy and the ability to respond swiftly to complex medical situations.
Duties
Deliver exceptional patient care by monitoring vital signs and assessing patients' conditions.
Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in compliance with healthcare regulations.
Provide emotional support and education to patients and their families regarding treatment plans and health management.
Respond promptly to emergencies, utilising advanced life support techniques when necessary.
Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance nursing skills and knowledge.
Requirements
The specifics of this role will be to work 2-1 alongside a HCA (Health Care Assistant) to care and support a young girl in her late teens. Your duties will include: checking her Medtronic insulin pump, monitoring blood glucose levels, checking the ventilator settings and changing the tubing for either the wet or dry circuit, performing tracheostomy cares, PEG feeding, seizure recording and a other clinical tasks.
Valid registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC).
Proven experience in an ICU or critical care setting is highly desirable.
Strong knowledge of anatomy and physiology, with the ability to apply this knowledge in clinical practice.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a strong focus on patient interaction.
Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Demonstrated commitment to providing compassionate patient care.
Flexibility to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
