Shirley View Nursing Home is a welcoming home providing 24-hour nursing, dementia and respite care for up to 21 elderly residents. The home offers bright spacious bedrooms, pleasant communal areas and a large garden.

About the role:

As a Registered Nurse, you will care for our residents like you would care for your own family, looking after their physical, psychological and social needs. You will be the senior person in charge on the floor and will stand in for the Manager as required.

Your main responsibilities will include:

Medication administration, changing dressings, catheterisation, tube feeding and management of chronic medical conditions. Keeping families of residents and GPs updated with any changes in condition, and keeping them involved in choices for ongoing care. Supervision of staff within the care team, ensuring all tasks are completed during the period of duty and residents receive required care. Providing high standards of care by undertaking accurate assessment and planning. Completing Care Plans and PRN's for residents Completing all necessary risk assessments to ensure the safety of the residents.

About you

Caring and compassionate by nature, with good reading, writing and communication skills, you will have a flexible approach to working shifts. You will be passionate about care. You will be willing to supervise, guide and support your peers.

You must be a qualified RGN with a valid NMC pin number and a good knowledge of the most up to date clinical practices.
